1. Key Account Manager – Gardenware

As part of a programme of sustained growth we are now seeking to develop our Sales team with the recruitment of an experienced and ambitious Key Account Manager to help drive sales in our gardenware retail division.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Key/National accounts, and for delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs. They will also be responsible for maintaining a strong sales pipeline through effective relationship building, account management and lead generation

Duties will include:

  • Managing prestigious and high worth accounts across the retail division
  • Devising annual business plans & goals with each key account
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key accounts at both buyer and senior management level
  • Identifying short and long term potentials and avenues of growth
  • Presenting proposals to prospective clients
  • Regular reviews of business performance, promotion strategies
  • Maintaining tight budget control over expenditure
  • Forecasting and tracking key account metrics
  • Keeping management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Keeping up to date with market trend and competitor activity by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, productsnew products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc
  • Being a point of contact to priority customers and resolving any issues that they have
  • Closely liaising with the marketing team about campaigns
  • Collecting and communicating customer requirements to all necessary departments
  • Providing technical customer support as necessary
  • Conducting regular business reviews with customers and suppliers
  • Responding to client communications or queries
  • Networking with business partners and customers
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of any marketing campaigns
  • Recommending changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments

Person Specification:

  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
  • Thorough understanding of margin criteria
  • Sophisticated and confident sales and presentation style
  • Experience and understanding of the gardenware sector would be desirable
  • Strong track record of closing deals and meeting targets in a similar FMCG focused environment
  • Excellent written and reporting skills
  • Strong IT skills

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all consumer orders and communication on behalf of the company, ensuring timely presentation of new products and services
  • Liaising on behalf of key account clients with other internal and external teams to ensure service levels reflect client expectation
  • Taking ownership of any customer complaints or issues by developing solutions, clarifying agreements and reporting progress and recommendations to managers.
  • Prospecting for potential new clients developing robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Researching and building relationships with new clients and their decision makers
  • Working with the sales team to develop proposals that respond to new client requirements.
  • Attending industry functions, events and conferences, and providing feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Presenting to and consulting with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identifying opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company‚Äôs unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Preparing regular progress reports to feedback activity, results and analysis to Managers
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the internal CRM or system.
  • Forecasting sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Working with marketing staff to ensure that the sales and marketing team activities are well coordinated and mutually supportive
  • Ensuring all sales engagements present Agriframes in a positive light.
  • Managing the Customer Service team and function
  • Providing sales training and mentoring to internal staff where requested.

Person Specification

  • Successful track record in a similar role within an FMCG related environment
  • Proven ability to prospect and convert high value accounts
  • A background and pipeline in Horticulture would be an advantage
  • Experience of managing prestigious accounts with key retailers and multiples
  • Excellent organizational and planning ability
  • Confident understanding of margins and negotiation within set criteria
  • Good communication skills with a polished and consultative sales style
  • Strong ability to research and evaluate internal and external information, analyse data, report and make recommendations
  • A proactive, positive and team orientated mindset
  • A willingness to work away from home base on occasion
